To residents who live in the Donnalynne Legacy subdivision and Tank Town area off of Morrison Road in Granite City and Pontoon Beach, the closure of the railroad crossing to accommodate the expansion of the Mitchell Train Yard is a very dangerous idea for a multitude of reasons.

First, it would increase the amount of response time for emergency services. Second, it would be detrimental to the residents of the affected areas. Third, the closure of the Morrison Road crossing in Chouteau Township will have disastrous consequences if it is allowed to go on.

The solution: Simply keep the railroad crossing open and/or build an overpass over the tracks.
