Police say the shooter who opened fire at a Minneapolis business Thursday died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was among 5 people found dead in the building.

“We do have several victims inside that are dead,” Minneapolis Police Deputy Chief Kris Arneson said during an evening news conference two blocks from the company. But when pressed to say how many, Arneson refused and said police were still investigating.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Accent Signage Systems on the 2300 block of Chestnut Avenue West in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood.

Police say the Hennepin County Medical Examiner Office will identify the shooter and the four people killed and the cause of deaths once their investigation is complete.

Hennepin County Medical Center was treating four people from the incident Thursday night, including three men in critical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman. The fourth person, who had minor injuries, is in satisfactory condition.
