They’re baaaaack!

One Million Moms, the anti-gay group comprised of far fewer than a million people, has found a new target for its attacks: Walt Disney World’s unofficial tradition of “Gay Days.” The group is calling on people to email Disney’s CEO in protest.

“The first Saturday in June, homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites will be at the Magic Kingdom with an agenda and purpose different than what would be expected at Disney,” members of the group write on their website. “Homosexuals will be celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Gay Day wearing matching Gay Day merchandise, such as T-shirts. There will also be transvestites dressed in drag showing their support for the event.”

Urging visitors to send an email to Disney’s CEO and other officials, the post continues, “Disney has been irresponsible for far too long. Disney representatives and security need to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere and require proper conduct and dress code on a daily basis.”

Oh, just shut up already. You’re not going to win.

Suck it, One Million Moms! You can’t stop progress!

The group One Million Moms has called for a boycott of the ABC Family Channel over an allegedly “anti-family” show being produced by singer Jennifer Lopez.

“Obviously, ABC has lost their minds,” the group said in a statement. “They haven’t let up so neither will we. ABC’s Family Channel has several anti-family programs, and they are planning on adding to that growing list.”

ABC’s The Fosters is a hour-long drama about two mothers raising a mix of foster and biological kids.

One Million Moms said that adoption was “wonderful” but accused the show of “attempting to redefine marriage.”

The organization, which is a part of the American Family Association, urged its members to boycott the show and ABC Family’s sponsors. They hope to stop the show “dead in it its tracks.”

What makes it even more hypocritical is that the very same channel that OMM are complaining about the “anti-family” shows, it airs the disgusting propaganda show called The 700 Club. And in a twist of irony, CBN used to own ABC Family as well.

One Million Moms has announced its latest protest: NBC’s The New Normal, a sitcom about a committed gay couple who hire a surrogate so they can have a child. The show doesn’t even premiere until September, but the hate group thinks it’s “harmful” enough that the show will have gay content at all [emphasis is original]:

NBC is using public airwaves to continue to subject families to the decay of morals and values, and the sanctity of marriage in attempting to redefine marriage. These things are harmful to our society, and this program is damaging to our culture. […]

Millions of Americans strongly believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman. NBC’s “The New Normal” is attempting to desensitize America and our children. It is the opposite of how families are designed and created. You cannot recreate the biological wheel.

One Millions Moms exists only as a symbolic PR tool. It is not itself a real organization — having no names or faces to represent it — but is merely a subsidiary of the American Family Association, a hate group run almost entirely by men.

Right on cue, the American Family Association’s One Million Moms has expressed outrage at JCPenney’s new Father’s Day advertisement featuring a same-sex couple with their kids. Suggesting the ad is “promoting sin,” OMM attacks the store for “taking sides” instead of remaining “neutral” in the “culture war”.

OMM previously attempted to boycott JCPenney when the store announced Ellen DeGeneres would be its new spokesperson, but they abandoned that boycott as a failure. There’s nothing to suggest this second effort will be end any differently.

One Million Moms is an anti-gay organization with an anti-gay agenda, and they clearly oppose any business that even dares acknowledge that gay people exist, let alone that they could be welcome customers.

Already boycotting JC Penney for hiring Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesperson, now the American Family Association’s OneMillionMoms is urging members to boycott Gap and its affiliated stores Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime and Athleta. The group is upset about a billboard that features a gay couple and says “GAP needs to seriously consider how their immoral advertising affect the youth of our nation.”

The group also claimed that its boycott of JC Penney is working and responsible for the store’s declining profits.

GAP Inc. Brands, including Old Navy, Banana Republic, Piperlime, and Athleta, does not deserve, nor will it get, money from conservative families across the country. Supporting GAP is not an option until they decide to remain neutral in the culture war. GAP needs to seriously consider how their immoral advertising affect the youth of our nation.

Christians should urge for the removal of GAP’s offensive billboard in Los Angeles and any other city where it is located. GAP will also need to cancel any plans to use the “Be One” ad campaign elsewhere including store-front posters, its website, and in print magazine ads.

TAKE ACTION

GAP Inc. Brands approved this type of ad in public areas where families and children are sure to see it. Please send your email to GAP now and let them know you are offended by their disrespect for family values and common decency.

1MM idiots at it again.

After failing to convince JC Penney to fire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson because she is openly gay, now the American Family Association’s group One Million Moms is putting Toys R Us in its crosshairs for selling an Archie comic book that features a same-sex marriage. The group demands that Toys R Us “remove all the same-sex ‘Just Married – Archie’ comic books immediately from your shelves” before children are “exposed to same-sex marriage.” The One Million Moms sample letter to the company ends with the line, “My decision to shop in your stores depends on it”:

As a mother and a member of OneMillionMoms.com, I am extremely disappointed to learn that select Toys ‘R’ Us stores are now selling ‘Archie’ comic books with a same-sex wedding displayed on the front cover. I am referring to the ones where the front cover reads “Just Married” with two men marrying, one wearing a service uniform.

I am aware that Toys ‘R’ Us employees do not actually set up the displays; they leave this up to the vendor. Your company should be aware of the merchandise being sold in your stores nonetheless. These comic books are displayed at the front checkout counters so they are highly visible to employees, managers, customers and children.

Unfortunately, children are now being exposed to same-sex marriage in your toy store. This is the last place a parent would expect to be confronted with questions from their children on topics that are too complicated for them to understand. Issues of this nature are being introduced too early and too soon, which is becoming extremely common and unnecessary.

The conservative group One Million Moms has called for a boycott against the store for “jumping on the pro-gay bandwagon,” but both JC Penney and DeGeneres have defended the partnership. Johnson told CBS News that he sees no controversy because “Ellen represents the values of our company”:

JOHNSON: We stand squarely behind Ellen as our spokesperson and that’s a great thing, because she shares the same values that we do in our company. Our company was founded 110 years ago on The Golden Rule, which is about treating people fair and square, just like if you treated yourself. And we think Ellen represents the values of our company and the values that we share. […]

As we thought about all the people in America today, we thought Ellen would be the perfect [spokes]person, because we all kind of trust her. She’s a very honest, straight-forward person with extraordinary values… It’s been unbelievably wonderful to work with someone who is so kind, so gracious, so funny, who just I think captures what America is about.

Bryan Fischer, who last week explained how Bill Clinton was responsible for the rise in oral cancer, is back with another attack on JC Penney for hiring Ellen DeGeneres, this time claiming it will lead to more depression, suicide, and breast cancer among women who become lesbians due to the store’s choice of spokesperson:

Will America’s young women be just a bit more likely to experiment with lesbianism now that JCPenney is mainstreaming it? Too any objective observer, the answer must be yes. Is this a good thing? To any objective observer, the answer must be no.

Research has indicated that lesbians suffer from increased levels of depression, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, breast cancer and vaginal diseases compared to heterosexual women.

Thus what JCPenney has done, by increasing, even if ever so slightly, the chances that young women will experiment with this behavior will turn out to be a tragic thing for some. JCPenney will have to share some culpability for that.

(via Kyle Mantyla at RWW: Fischer: “JC Penney is ‘Defining Deviancy Down’ by Hiring Ellen DeGeneres”)

Once upon a time, Bryan Fischer believed that trying to get someone fired from their job was a hate crime.  But that is apparently only the case if the person getting fired is a Christian and the people urging the firing are gay because Fischer and the American Family Association are now trying to get JC Penney to fire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson solely because she is gay.

On his radio program today, Fischer discussed the effort with Monica Cole of the AFA subgroup One Million Moms, which is responsible for the campaign to pressure JC Penney to fire DeGeneres.  Both Fischer and Cole agreed that the decision by JC Penney to hire a sexual deviant like DeGeneres was an intentional affront to Christians, especially since there were countless heterosexuals that the company could have hired to fill this position instead.

The right-wing crybabies’ latest whine du jour: staunchly progressive Ben and Jerry’s names one of their limited time flavors of ice cream, named Schweddy Balls.

The vehemently homophobic far-right SPLC-designated hate group American ChristoFascist Association subsidiary One Million Moms called for a boycott of the brand: American ChristoFascist Association subsidiary One Million Moms called for a boycott of the brand:

Maybe they would have preferred Bill Brasky’s balls, instead?

The humorless, fun-averse conservative group One Million Moms, an offshoot of the American Family Association, is — once again — none too pleased with frozen treat liberals, Ben & Jerry’s. The very vanilla organization is calling for a boycott of the ice cream maker’s new, buzzy flavor, the “Saturday Night Live” skit-inspired Schweddy Balls.

Then, they make a point to air out their dairy delight grievances, including another rejection of any sort of gay-themed treat.

In the past, Ben & Jerry’s has released controversial ice creams, like a special edition of Chubby Hubby called Hubby Hubby last year which celebrated gay marriage. It seems that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry’s.

The ice cream is being released in a limited batch, which means it will be distributed nationwide but only for three or four months. If it proves popular, another batch might be forthcoming, but we hope not.

Finally, a call to action, asking for vigilance in the face of a full frontal ball assault.

Please send Ben & Jerry’s Public Relations Manager, Sean Greenwood, an email letter requesting that no additional Schweddy Balls ice cream be distributed. Also, highly recommend they refrain from producing another batch with this name or any other offensive names or you will no longer be able to purchase their products.

Those at the Huffington Post, however, heartily embraced the Schweddy Balls; read our taste test reviews here.

The name “Schweddy Balls” got its origin from a skit on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

Dear AFA (and all other Christofascist loons), please quit your shallow-minded whining over a harmless name like “Schweddy Balls.” This is not the pre-Cable TV era thinking anymore.

This is not the 1st time the right-wing bible-thumping crybabies have boycotted products for endorsing views that are opposite to them— including, but not limited to:  same-sex marriage, supporting Planned Parenthood (which is NOT an “abortion clinic” like the anti-choicers think it is), Park 51 (aka “Ground Zero Mosque” to Islamophobes), showing support to the Muslim community 2 of the 3 US-based car companies (GM [or “Government Motors” per the right-wing fringe groups] and Chrysler), anything related to France (particularly during the mid 2000’s), Liberal/Progressive Musicians, Fox’s Glee, Transgendered Chaz Bono on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, CPAC, and whatnot.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Some folks don’t like “Schweddy Balls.”

That’s the new ice cream flavor from Ben and Jerry’s. A group called One Million Moms says the name is “vulgar” and turns innocent ice cream into “something repulsive.”

The name “Schweddy Balls” comes from a long-running “Saturday Night Live” sketch. One Million Moms threatens to launch a Ben and
Jerry’s boycott if the name isn’t changed.

The One Million Moms and other shallow-minded right-wing crybabies love to fuss over stuff like this. Shut up!
